Velocefondo (~120km)
This route for the Okanagan Granfondo Penticton offers a slightly shorter but equally scenic experience, showcasing the best of the South Okanagan. Starting on the south side of Penticton, cyclists will head south along the shores of Skaha Lake, enjoying views of the water and surrounding vineyards. The course passes through the charming community of Oliver known as wine country, its beauty and warm hospitality.
Cyclists will experience rolling hills and gentle climbs, making it a rewarding challenge for riders of all skill levels. The route loops through Oliver, offering picturesque views of vineyards and orchards before heading back toward Penticton. With its well-paved roads and a mix of flat stretches and mild inclines, this course is ideal for those looking to push their limits while enjoying the scenery.
Highlights include serene lake views, peaceful rural landscapes, and the vibrant atmosphere of the Okanagan’s cycling community. This is a course designed to showcase the beauty of the region while providing an accessible and enjoyable Granfondo experience. There will also be awards for the top three male and top three females who complete the distance.
