Granfondo (~155km)
This Okanagan Granfondo Penticton bike route showcases the stunning beauty of the region while challenging riders with a mix of terrain and elevation. Starting on the south side of Penticton, cyclists' journey through the heart of the Okanagan Valley, passing through scenic vineyards and orchards on their way to Oliver and Osoyoos. The route offers breathtaking views of Okanagan and Skaha Lakes, with rolling hills that test endurance and reward with spectacular vistas.
In Osoyoos, the course brings riders near the iconic desert landscape, providing a unique cycling experience unlike any other in Canada. From there, the route loops back through Oliver, a town known for its rich wine culture, before continuing west toward Keremeos and the rugged natural beauty of Oosoyos. Riders will encounter a mix of flat stretches and challenging climbs, including areas with significant elevation gain that will push their limits. Endurance cyclists and triathletes will recognize some of the route as par t of the historic Ironman Canada cycling course from years gone by. This route includes the epic climb up Richter Pass, where cyclists gain elevation of approximately 350 meters (1,150 feet) over 12 kilometers. This pass will feature a 5km hill climb segme nt for the KOM and QOM of the day!
This route not only celebrates the Okanagan Valley’s natural beauty but also highlights its welcoming spirit and world-class cycling opportunities.
In the Granfondo category riders can participate in the Team Competition. Prizes will be awarded to the ‘top male team’, ‘female team’ and ‘mixed team’. There will also be awards for the top three male and top three females who complete the distance.
Aid station locations will be announced in the spring of 2025.
